Description
A delicious combination of creamy Alfredo sauce, tender chicken, and crispy garlic bread, perfect for family dinners or cozy nights in.
Ingredients
- 2 small chicken breasts
- 1 Italian style loaf
- 2 tablespoons poultry seasoning (or a mix of salt, pepper, and garlic powder)
- 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic (or garlic paste)
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Begin by cutting the chicken breasts into ½-inch pieces. Transfer them to a bowl, drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and season with the poultry seasoning or a mix of salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Cook the seasoned chicken over medium heat until thoroughly cooked and golden brown on the outside.
- Slice your Italian loaf lengthwise. In a small bowl, combine 1 stick of melted butter, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley, and the crushed red pepper flakes. Spread this mixture evenly on the inside of the bread.
- Toast the prepared bread in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 5-10 minutes. Monitor it closely to achieve your desired toastiness.
- In the same pan used for the chicken, heat it over medium-low. Add the remaining 1/2 stick of butter and let it melt, followed by 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant.
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream, shredded Parmesan cheese, and the remaining chopped parsley. Let the sauce simmer for about 3-5 minutes, stirring continuously until it thickens slightly.
- Remove the pan from the heat and spread half of the sauce over the toasted bread. Layer with the chopped chicken, shredded mozzarella cheese, and the rest of the sauce.
- Bake the assembled bread in the oven at 350°F for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted.
- Slice the bread into 2-3 inch pieces and serve warm. Enjoy!
Notes
For best results, always keep track of the cooking time to avoid overcooking. Freshly grated cheeses melt better and provide a creamier texture.
