Description

Thai Basil Beef Rolls combine savory beef, fresh basil, and crisp vegetables wrapped in soft rice paper for a quick and flavorful dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Lean ground beef
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Hoisin sauce
  • 1 cup Shredded carrots
  • 1 cup Chopped bell peppers
  • 1 cup Fresh basil leaves
  • 8 sheets Rice paper wrappers

Instructions

  1. Prep all fillings: Wash basil, shred carrots, and chop bell peppers into thin strips, placing each in small bowls.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Stir in soy sauce and hoisin sauce. Cook for 1–2 minutes until the sauce reduces slightly.
  4. Remove the pan from heat and stir in fresh basil leaves until they wilt from residual heat.
  5. Fill a shallow bowl with warm water. Dip one rice paper wrapper for 8–12 seconds until pliable, then lay flat on a damp towel.
  6. Place 2–3 tablespoons of beef near the bottom third of the wrapper. Top with shredded carrots and bell pepper. Fold the sides in, then roll up tightly.
  7. Repeat with remaining wrappers. Serve whole or slice in half on the diagonal.

Notes

Work quickly when soaking wrappers; they dry out fast. Assemble rolls close to your serving plate for freshness. Serve with a dipping sauce for extra flavor.
