Description

A hands-off slow cooker dinner featuring tender chicken in a savory-sweet teriyaki sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken in the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix the teriyaki sauce, chicken broth, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Shred the chicken in the crockpot and stir to combine with the sauce.
  7. Serve over cooked rice or noodles and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, add a cornstarch slurry during the last cooking phase. Use dark meat for richer flavor and keep the lid closed to hold in steam.
