Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken pieces (legs, thighs, or breasts)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
- Dip each piece of chicken into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
- Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
Notes
Pat the chicken dry before coating for a better crust. Use a thermometer to check doneness, aiming for 165°F in the thickest part.
