Description
A delightful recipe combining creamy goodness with tender shrimp and orzo pasta, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 8 oz orzo pasta
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large pot. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add shrimp, salt, and pepper, cooking until shrimp turns pink, about 3-4 minutes. Remove shrimp from pot and set aside.
- In the same pot, add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Stir in the orzo and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- Reduce heat to low, then stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until creamy.
- Return the shrimp to the pot, mixing until well combined.
- Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For best results, do not overcook the shrimp to prevent a rubbery texture. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days; however, the creamy sauce may not freeze well.
