Description
A quick and flavorful rice dish combining shrimp, meats, and Cajun spices for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb hamburger meat
- 1 lb ground pork sausage
- 10–12 shrimp, tail off and deveined
- 4 cups cooked rice
- 2 cups broth (chicken or vegetable)
- 1.5 cup mixed onions and bell peppers, chopped
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
- 1 tsp seafood seasoning
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add the hamburger meat and ground pork sausage, cooking until browned.
- Remove the meat from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil and sauté the chopped onions and bell peppers until soft.
- Stir in the cooked rice and broth, mixing well.
- Add the cooked meats back to the skillet along with the shrimp and seafood seasoning.
- Cook for an additional 5–7 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
- Serve hot.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using andouille sausage or smoked paprika. Adjust seasoning to taste.
