Description

A quick, creamy, and savory rice dish infused with garlic and Parmesan, perfect as a weeknight side or a centerpiece.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long-grain rice (about 200 grams)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups chicken broth (about 500 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients.
  2. Rinse the long-grain rice under cold water.
  3. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add the rinsed rice to the saucepan and toast for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth, add salt and black pepper, and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in Parmesan cheese and parsley.
  7. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with additional Parmesan and parsley if desired.

Notes

Use a tight-fitting lid and warm broth to prevent soggy rice. Adjust cooking times if using brown rice.
