Ingredients
- 1 cup long-grain rice (about 200 grams)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups chicken broth (about 500 ml)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
Instructions
- Gather your ingredients.

- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the rinsed rice to the saucepan and toast for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth, add salt and black pepper, and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in Parmesan cheese and parsley.
- Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with additional Parmesan and parsley if desired.
Notes
Use a tight-fitting lid and warm broth to prevent soggy rice. Adjust cooking times if using brown rice.
