Description

Cajun Sausage Pasta delivers bold, creamy comfort in under 40 minutes, blending smoked sausage, cream, and Cajun seasoning into a one-pan meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned.
  2. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in the Cajun seasoning.
  4. Add the penne pasta and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the pasta is al dente.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and cheese. Mix until the cheese melts and the sauce is creamy.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes

For perfect results, brown the sausage well and add cream on low heat. If the sauce tightens too much as it cools, stir in a little more broth or cream when reheating.
